Kevin Kurtz is the author of A Day in the Salt Marsh, the children's book that was a finalist for the 2008 Florida Publisher's Association Best Picture Book, as well as a nominee for the 2009 Chickadee Award and on the short list for 2007 Green Earth Book Award. He is also the author of the new book A Day on the Mountain, a Library Media Connection Editor's Choice selection for 2011. He has a master's degree in elementary education and over a decade of experience as an environmental educator. He has taught groups of all ages about plants and animals and the ecosystems they inhabit. Kevin is available to do a live or virtual author visit at your school.
