School Visits: Kevin has a master's degree in elementary education and over nine years of experience teaching school groups of all ages as an environmental educator at organizations such as the South Carolina Aquarium. He has presented A Day in the Salt Marsh to students from kindergarten to fifth grade as well as to high school biology classes. A visit from Kevin can include:

  • A reading of A Day in the Salt Marsh
  • An informative discussion of the salt marsh ecosystem and the plants and animals that inhabit it based on grade-level science standards
  • A discussion of the process of writing a children's book
  • A question-and-answer period
  • A book signing

Rates for a program:
  • All day visit at one school. Includes five 45-minute programs (maximum 125 students per program) and book signings. $400 plus travel expenses.
  • Schools near each other can split a day visit into separate morning and afternoon visits. Each school visit would include two 45-minute programs (maximum 125 students per program) and book signings. $250 per school plus travel expenses.
  • Evening PTA program. 45-minute program and book signing. $200 plus travel expenses.
  • Schools in Eugene and Springfield, Oregon. 45-minute program and book signing. $100 per program ($400 for all day visit with five programs).
